Tech Council of Maryland Signs -Agreement With Gilbert Tweed Associates to Provide Access to Talent Acquisition at Reasonable Cost for Its Members


(Rockville, MD)- November 3, 2006 -Tech Council of Maryland has reached an agreement with Gilbert Tweed Associates (www.gilberttweed.com) to provide its members access to a best practices approach for recruiting talent into their organizations at a special cost savings. Through this unprecedented group purchasing arrangement, member organizations will have access to Gilbert Tweed Associates' unique hiring process and expertise in the recruitment of executives, for both Technology and Life Sciences companies.

"Historically, the recruitment of top talent for the technology and biotech industries have been a challenge", said Rick Harris, Chief Operating Officer of Tech Council MD. "This is one of the most important type of decisions an executive has to make. We believe this benefit adds tremendous value to our members to provide them with resources to recruit and hire people in a more efficient way and save on recruitment costs. We signed this partnership agreement with Gilbert Tweed Associates because of their great reputation, track record and parallel expertise in our industries." Mr. Harris said, "the Gilbert Tweed retained search process has a completion time below the industry average."

Gilbert Tweed Associates is an international retained executive search firm with a distinctive streamlined hiring process and an unmatched success rate of 95% for recruiting "A" players. The industry average is 51%. The company was established in 1972 and is one of the 10 largest search firms in the country. Managing Directors, Melissa Henderson for the Technology sector and Ira Shapiro for Life Sciences sector will be leading the Gilbert Tweed team for this endeavor.
