Tech Council of Maryland Releases 2006 Primary Election Guide as Part of its Efforts to Urge Marylanders to Vote

(Rockville, MD)- August 16, 2006 -The Tech Council of Maryland (TCM) released its Maryland Primary Election Guide to spotlight efforts encouraging high technology companies to vote during this year's elections. The guide provides a listing of all candidates running for Congress, Governor, Comptroller, Attorney General and the Maryland General Assembly. Additionally, the guide lists candidates running for office in Frederick, Howard, Montgomery and Prince George's counties. After the Primary Election, the guide will be updated with race results and a TCM Maryland General Election Guide will follow shortly thereafter.

"The Tech Council of Maryland hopes the Maryland Primary Election Guide will not only educate TCM members on important election races in Maryland, but also serve as a tool to encourage employees at member companies to vote and have their voice heard. The Tech Council sees this as an educational opportunity on the impact policymakers can have on the bottom line," said Julie Coons, CEO of TCM.

In an effort to enhance the guide, candidate website addresses (when available) are embedded as well as links to information about each legislative district. These features will help readers learn more about their districts, important races and where future policymakers stand on issues important to them and the high technology business community.

"This effort coincides with TCM's increased outreach efforts to Maryland's decision makers. We believe the high tech community has an absolutely great story to tell about the positive impact this sector has on Maryland's economy," said Coons.
